European Banking Federation

To support the European unification process and safeguard their interests in Brussels, the national associations of private banks came together in 1960 to form the European Banking Federation (EBF). This association of associations is the united voice of the European banking sector. The EBF represents the interests of some 5000 European banks in 31 (EU and EFTA) countries with combined assets of over 30,000 billion euros and around 2.4 million employees.
The Federation provides a forum to discuss upcoming decisions at the EU level so that the views of the banks can then be communicated to the appropriate European institutions.
